This morning, one of my friends finish her article in a matter of hours. She did it right at the beginning of the day; when the sun still hides on the other side of the world.
Then, I remember a tip from my mentor, someone who gives me advice on how to stay productive.
“Eat the frog,” he said.
If you didn’t know, that phrase came from a book named “Eat The Frog.”
What that means is to work on your hardest work first; At the beginning of the day.
That’s the time when you have all the energy. That’s the time when your energy is at the highest level. That’s the time when you can eat the frog (the hardest task).
Our willpower decreased overtime throughout the day. We have to manage it well. If we don’t, then we’ll end up stacking the deadlines than finishing them.
One of the best ways to do that is by doing the hard task at the beginning of the day. When your energy is still full
That way, the majority of your energy will be used for something important. Not wasted in leisure activities such as watching TV, playing games, reading news, etc.
I have done that in the past, and it felt so good. I regret I lost the streak overtimes. Now, I strive to revive it once again.
Imagine if the reverse happens. We spent most of our energy on not so important activities. Then, we spend the rest at the end of the day; on the task we should do. How’s that feel? I bet you can’t even enjoy it.
Sadly, that’s what we usually do. Now you know this, you can use it to your advantage. Eat The Frog!
Trust me, you won’t regret it.
